Melissa Gray, MSc Registered Psychologist

Melissa is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists and a member of the Psychologists Association of Alberta.  She has completed her studies at the University of Calgary and received a master’s degree in Counselling Psychology.  Since 2008, she has supported clients to acquire the tools needed to achieve their desired dreams and hopes, goals, and to thrive during times of difficulty, change, and transition. Her counselling experience spans individual personal and workplace concerns, couples, and families.

She believes every person and couple has a unique set of discoverable personal strengths that can be applied to overcome obstacles and create flourishing lives.  Melissa says: “It’s an honor to walk alongside people I work with who have the courage to do the work necessary to achieve life changes. Witnessing others change always inspires me and I have tangible hope to offer you for your journey.”

She has a collaborative approach to counselling as well as warm, affirming, highly empathetic, and compassionate  respect for your lived experience as it as vital to the therapy process.

In counselling, she likes to use an integrated model of therapy to support holistic wellness. Incorporating positive psychology, strengths-based therapies (including solution-focused and narrative approaches), as well as trauma informed breathwork, mindfulness, and mind-body approaches (including emotional freedom technique EFT or “tapping”).

In the first session together,  she will explain her approach to counselling and welcome you to share any healing methods you personally find helpful. Her particular calling to support new parents and have specialized knowledge to understand how to assist when this transition doesn’t go as expected. Melissa’s wish is for you to have the essential support you need during this exceptional time of life.
